condition
Endometriosis
Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside the uterus, leading to pain and potentially fertility problems.
Symptoms
- Painful periods (dysmenorrhea)
- Pain during intercourse
- Pain with bowel movements or urination
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Infertility
Treatment:
- Pain Relief: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen help manage pain.
- Hormonal Therapy: Birth control pills, hormonal IUDs, or other hormonal treatments can reduce or eliminate menstruation to control endometriosis.
- Surgery: In severe cases, laparoscopic surgery may be performed to remove endometrial tissue
